LSH to organize a prison book drive

Lincoln Secular Humanists will be collecting books to deliver to the Nebraska State Penitentiary in late April. The library at the penitentiary is very limited and mostly contains donated religious books and magazines. We would like to see more variety in the library so the prisoners can have more choices when it comes to reading and so they are exposed to more ideas and different points of view. If you would like to donate books for the prison book drive please send the books along with a note designating them for the prison book drive to 1867 SW 31st Street, Lincoln, NE, 68522.

Update on this: we have received over 200 books so far, many freethought titles, many Native American history books, Joseth donated a few books about African-American struggles and leadership, I donated a copy of 1984 by George Orwell, What is Anarchism by Alexander Berkman and a copy of the Communist Manifesto. Unfortunately we don't have any other books about socialism. If anyone would like to donate books of this nature that would be great!

I may see if I can get some cheap leftist introductory paperbacks off of Amazon.
